Vision
“Creative People, Gracious Community, Connected Singapore”
More about MICA’s Vision
Creative People
At the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts (MICA), we are committed to nurturing and investing in creativity to distinguish ourselves in the global crowd. To achieve this, MICA and its agencies work closely to roll out key initiatives to help grow the creative industries and develop creative talent.
Gracious Community
As a Ministry that engages the hearts and minds of the people, MICA has undertaken the challenge of nurturing a gracious society, making us a Ministry with one of the broadest goals. A gracious and cultured community is characterised by civic-mindedness, kindness and a vibrant artistic realm. With the help of agencies such as the National Arts Council, National Heritage Board and National Library Board, as well as the Singapore Kindness Movement, MICA will develop and convey relevant ideas and values that a gracious community should espouse. This will lead to a balanced and harmonious society.
Connected Singapore
At MICA, we look at connectivity in all its aspects. This encompasses the development of Singapore as an infocomm hub, and the intelligent use of infocomm technology to sharpen Singapore’s competitiveness in all key economic sectors, link citizens and communities with one another and the Government, as well as improve the quality of life.
It also includes emotional connectivity and creating a sense of national identity in our society. The Government’s ability to rally public support for its policies and programmes depends on its public communications efforts. In addition, policy formulation and implementation require us to consult and engage the public, especially with the increasing demand for open accountability.
Mission
“To Develop Singapore as a Global City for Information, Communications and the Arts, so as to Build a Creative Economy, Gracious Community and Connected Society with a Singaporean Identity rooted in our Multicultural Heritage”
