Singapore Cable Vision
Singapore Cable Vision (SCV) completed its $600 million nation-wide broadband network in September 1999, offering more than 40 channels of quality international programming, 24 hours a day. SCV also carried selected cable TV services via UHF (Ultra-High Frequency) and MMDS (multi-point, multi-channel distribution system).
In support of the government initiative Singapore ONE (One Network for Everyone), SCV launched its broadband access service on 29 December 1999. This service provided households with speedy access to the multimedia applications via cable modem as well as high-bandwidth, 24-hour connection to the Internet.
